From Sacramento
If coming from the Sacramento Airport, follow Highway 5 South to Interstate 80 West to San Francisco. Follow 80 West until you see the signs for Highway 12 - Napa Sonoma. Exit onto Highway 12 west. Take Highway 12 west to Highway 29. Turn right at the light onto Highway 29. Go north to the first stoplight and stay in the left lane. Follow the signs to Napa/Sonoma. Get on and stay on Highway 29 north. Highway 29 runs up the west side of the valley and will take you past Yountville, Oakville, Rutherford, St Helena and on into Calistoga. If you need to go to the Silverado Trail (this takes you up the east side of the valley), turn right at the Oakville Crossroad and go to the tee in the road. Turn left to go north and this will also take you all the way to Calistoga except you will not go through any of the towns that Highway 29 takes you through.
